Ryan Huddart did not enjoy the best night between the sticks for Eastleigh as they lost 4-2 at home to Dover as he opened the scoring for the visitors.

In what was a crazy last 10 minutes, with Eastleigh losing 2-0 at that point. Ryan Bird got Eastleigh on the scoresheet after 81 minutes then just five minutes later it seemed as if Andy Drury had rescued an unlikely point for the Spitfires.

A minute later, however, Jim Stevenson struck before Ricky Miller grabbed Dover’s fourth.

The game had been goalless at halftime and it was the Arsenal loanee who broke the deadlock, with 51 minutes played, flapping the ball into the back of his own net in front of 1,854 spectators.

I’ve yet to find a video of the incident, but a report from the Daily Echo, says, ‘Chris Kinnear’s delivery from the left should have been gobbled up by the towering, young keeper, but he somehow pawed it into his own net on 51 minutes.’

That tweet from an Eastleigh fan seems a bit harsh given he’s only just arrived there.

Surely things can only get better?

He’s only 19. Give him a chance.
