Isaac Hayden scored for his new club Newcastle in the Magpies’ 4-1 thrashing of Reading on Wednesday night.

The midfielder, who was at Hull on loan last season before signing permanently for Newcastle this summer for a reported £2.5m, scored his first goal for the new club in the 20th minute. It was a clinical striker’s goal after a scramble in the Reading box allowed the ball to fall to him. Despite having his back to goal, he managed to turn and poke the ball home.

Other goals came courtesy of Reading’s McCleary on half-time, Newcastle’s Ritchie in the 50th minute and Gayle in the 69th and 89th.

It’s good to see our (ex)boy doing well.
