Antoine Griezmann has admitted that although he’s open to a move to the Premier League one day, at the moment he’s under contract with Atletico Madrid.

The Frenchman was a big hit at Euro 2016, sparking rumours that he was signing for just about everyone. Given his chemistry with Olivier Giroud on the pitch, as well as reported past interest, he was instantly linked with a move to Arsenal.

Although there was probably no truth to these rumours at all, the 25-year-old claims that he’s open to a move to the Premier League one day.

“[Paul Pogba] loves that league,” Griezmann said to Amy Lawrence from the Guardian when asked about his France teammate’s move.

“Manchester is the perfect club for him. With Mourinho they are making something new.

“I think the supporters in England won’t be disappointed. They can expect the spectacular from Paul. He deserves it. He works hard and has the talent to be such an important player.”

He added, “Yes [I could move to the Premier League], why not? If I am out of contract with Atlético I would ask myself that question.”

If he continues to develop as he has done, there’s no way Griezmann is leaving Atletico any time soon, so we’ll just have to be patient…

Although, by the sounds of it, he’d much rather join his hero, David Beckham’s, former club.

“I liked [David Beckham] a lot,” he revealed.

“He was my idol. That’s why I wear a long-sleeved jersey and wear the No7.”

I don’t think any Gooners actually ever believed we would sign Griezmann but if they did, they shouldn’t now. He’s happy where he is. I know a lot can change very quickly in football but I don’t think this will.
