Calum Chambers is reportedly set to join Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.
Arsene Wenger recently confirmed that the defender could be on his way out on loan before the transfer window closes, with reports claiming that the player wanted a move to Spain or Italy. Unfortunately for Calum, it appears he’s going somewhere a little less sunny: Middlesbrough.
Joining the newly promoted team would be a good opportunity for the 21-year-old since he could earn Premier League experience at the same time as getting regular football.
Talk of Chambers going out on loan first started when new boy, 20-year-old Rob Holding, overtook him in the pecking order after signing for Arsenal from Bolton. It became clear that the former Southampton lad isn’t in Wenger’s immediate plans.

We only signed him in 2014, so the chances of us selling Chambers are pretty slim. However, a loan move is a logical step.
The only issue is that we’ll be a defender down. Is the boss looking to lineup someone else temporarily to replace him?
We’ll have to wait and see.
