According to Marcelo Brozovic’s agent, Miroslav Bicanic, the Inter Milan midfielder is wanted by both Arsenal and Chelsea and the Serie A club is ready to let him go to either.

Apparently, Chelsea’s representatives are already in Milan to do the deal while the Gunners are also ‘prepared’ to cough up the €30m for the 23-year-old.

Speaking to the Croatian press, Bicanic revealed:

“It’s true, there are many options and we are talking about some big European clubs.

“I heard that Chelsea representatives are in Milan and that Arsenal are also prepared to sign him. Inter are pushing to sell to one of these two clubs who are prepared to pay a sum that satisfies all concerned.

“However, I am currently in Zagreb and there’s plenty of time before transfer deadline day. The matter is not so urgent and until Marcelo signs a contract with another club, he remains an Inter player.”

Chelsea definitely appear to be the main team strongly rumoured to sign the Inter man, although Arsenal have obviously been linked. It would appear, just by the amount of coverage and the fact that his agent says they’re in Italy ready to talk, that the Blues are in the driving seat. Saying this, this might not mean anything and for all we know Arsene Wenger’s about to shock us all by signing another player.

The agent seems very casual about the whole affair, that’s for sure.

As it stands, although it’s certainly not impossible that Arsenal could want Brozovic, I don’t see us signing another player after we’ve signed Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez.

I’m very prepared to be wrong, though.
