Atletico Madrid are reportedly refusing to negotiate with Arsenal over the transfer of highly rated centre-back, José Giménez.

Daily Cannon has said all along that Atletico won’t let the 21-year-old go. He’s too much of a prospect and the fact that they reportedly asked for €55-57m euros (his release clause is apparently €65m) reflects that.

Now, Mercafutbol are reporting that Atletico will not be entertaining talks with the Gunners.

There’s no way Atletico would let Giménez go for anything under his release clause and there’s no way we will pay it.

Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague has even said that they’re not worried because they know that Arsenal won’t pay that for a defender. Too right we won’t!

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new centre-back after Per Mertesacker and Gabriel both picked up injuries and our focus appears to be firmly on Shkodran Mustafi, if the rumours are to be believed. If we’re second guessing paying a reported €30m for him, there’s no way we’re paying over double that for someone else.
