Arsenal’s u18s got off to a fantastic start to the U18 Premier League in their Saturday opener against Aston Villa at London Colney.

A brace from 17-year-old Eddie Nketiah  and goals from Donyell Malen and Emile Smith-Rowe made sure the Young Guns wrapped up their first straightforward win of the season.

Nketiah was fantastic last season having joined us after Chelsea had released him, informing him that they weren’t willing to offer him a scholarship. Hearing that he was available, Arsenal snapped him up just days later, something that the youngster claims is one of the happiest days of his life.

The lifelong Arsenal fan seems born to be a striker and despite his baby face, his maturity on the pitch shines through. He’s definitely one to watch for the future, especially if he carries on banging in the goals as he has done.

As far as the u18s are concerned, start as you mean to go on fellows!
