While actual transfer rumours were swirled, slightly less interesting Arsenal-related stuff was going down elsewhere.

PSG are apparently trying to sign former Arsenal ‘target’ Julian Draxler. I know, shocking. Actually, what is actually shocking is the amount they’re reportedly willing to pay for him. The general consensus, however, is that Wolfsburg still won’t sell, so there’s no huge development there.

I’m still unsure how I feel about Draxler. Arsene Wenger was clearly a fan so seeing him go elsewhere would be disappointing but I don’t see where he’d fit into the squad right now. Plus €75m is a bit steep for a 22-year-old, wouldn’t you say?

Roma are still ‘eyeing’ Mathieu Flamini, according to the Italian media. Each to their own, I guess. I wonder what happened to him and Adebayor going to Caykur Rozespor?

Arsenal’s arch nemesis, Samir Nasri, is set to leave Manchester City on loan. The Frenchman is thought to have turned down Besiktas in favour of Sevilla.

For all you gamers out there, Petr Cech has apparently been given a FIFA ranking of 88 in the new game. Mesut Ozil’s is still to come.

Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp have pulled out of the Arsenal Legends match set to take place at the Emirates next month. It’s supposedly down to coaching duties. I feel bad for anyone who bought a ticket in order to see them play.

Speaking of tickets, the Arsenal v Nottingham Forest EFL Cup match will be just £20!

Lucas Perez completed his move to Arsenal. Don’t worry, we covered this. However, there were some extra quotes from Wenger on the new striker:

“I think people will be a little bit surprised maybe, because nobody knows him very well. He has travelled a bit across Europe.

“He’s a late developer in this position because he has always played on the flanks. He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year in a team that didn’t create too many chances.

“I’m confident. He has pace, good technical levels, is a good finisher and he has the ingredients to be a success. It’s always a little bit of a gamble to come from one country to another, with different challenges, but I believe it was a gamble worth taking. I’m excited about that.”
