According to L’Equipe, Arsenal have submitted a second bid of £35m for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

Although we don’t actually know whether a first bid was officially made for the winger, apparently we’ve gone and made a second one. This is coming from L’Equipe‘s consultant, Gilles Favard, who has only recently tweeted that Mahrez will be signing for Arsenal ‘soon’.

Meanwhile, Ed Aarons from the Guardian claims that he’s been told that Mahrez’s agent has just met with Leicester’s sporting director, John Rudkin.

The rumour’s hotting up but I’m still doubtful. Leicester really, really don’t want to let go of another star player after N’Golo Kante went to Chelsea. They’ve managed to stop Jamie Vardy from jumping ship but considering Mahrez won player of the season last term, he’s a huge player for them and losing him could be disastrous.

We’ll keep you posted with any developments.
