Arsenal are reportedly ready to hand Arsene Wenger even more money in order for Arsenal to sign some more players during this transfer window.

According to reports, the boss was initially given a transfer fund of £100m but considering Granit Xhaka cost close to £30m (fees + add-ons), the board are well aware that £70m isn’t enough to buy all the players we want/need.

If the claims are true that we’re going to go back in for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, we’ve already had a £30m (roughly) bid snubbed so we’ll have to approach them with even more, with some saying it’ll have to be closer to £40m.

This then leaves just £30m for Shkodran Mustafi, who is apparently worth £10+ more than that and don’t even get me started on Riyad Mahrez.

Is the report true? I’m not so sure because I doubt the board implemented a strict £100m cap in the first place, considering how much faith they have in Wenger. Perhaps as a ‘guide’ but I don’t see them giving Wenger of all people a limit. If he wanted to spend more than that I doubt they ever had a problem with it.
