After a weekend that saw Arsenal score goals, win points and sign players, the club are expected to announce the arrival of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez on Tuesday.

Why Tuesday?

Well, Monday is a bank holiday in the UK and we all know that Arsenal don’t like to make anything official until it’s filed in triplicate and they’ve received confirmation that the deal has been ratified from at least four independent sources.

True story.

Not really.

Mustafi has already been talking about why he signed for Arsenal so we can assume that the deals are done and we’re just waiting for someone to arrive at the FA and check their fax machine.

That means the announcement could come on Monday if an employee there forgets that it’s a bank holiday and turns up for normal shift.

It’s possible, but not likely.

Mustafi has signed a five-year deal while Perez, who is 3.5 years older, has been given a four-year one worth a reported £40k per week.
