Alexis Sanchez has been called up to represent Chile during their World Cup 2018 qualifiers in September.

It’s hardly a surprise, considering the forward was brilliant for his country during the Copa America tournament, scoring three goals and assisting four in six appearances. He even won Player of the Tournament.

So far, out of all the South America teams, Chile are on 10 points with Argentina just above them on 11 and Ecuador and Uruguay above them on 13.

Alexis’ team are set to face Paraguay and Bolivia who have four and three points respectively, so they shouldn’t do too badly.

Although it’s not a shock that the 27-year-old was called up again, it’ll be interesting to see how Arsenal handle the exertion of these high-pressure matches. We have plenty of players who will go out and represent their countries, but not many as important as Alexis.
