Arsenal and Roma have finally come to an arrangement that will see Wojciech Szczesny spend another season on loan in Italy with an option to buy for €16m included in the contract.

In what has been, perhaps, the most tedious transfer story of the summer, a deal always seemed like it would be struck between all parties despite the drama that parts of the press tried to whip up. Reports from Italy claim this has now happened.

It is believed that Woj will meet up with his not-so-new teammates in America this weekend.

Szczesny has a contract with Arsenal which runs until 2018. It remains to be seen if Roma will exercise their buy option but it does seem unlikely and I wouldn’t rule out Woj still ending up as Arsenal’s number one in the next couple of seasons.
