Arsene Wenger has reportedly asked Thierry Henry to quit football punditry in order to coach full-time at London Colney.

On Tuesday morning, the English media decided to run with the story that Wenger and Thierry had argued about the former forward’s position as a pundit for Sky. The reports claim that the boss has urged Thierry to focus on coaching the Arsenal u18s full-time and brought up the – valid – point that it’s a conflict of interests. He can’t be on our pay role and then be laying into us at the weekend – this is something I’ve personally taken issue with in the past.

Some outlets are claiming that Thierry has offered to work for us for free but Wenger still issued the ultimatum.

On one hand, if the reports are true, I can see why Gooners would be annoyed with Wenger’s decision, considering Henry could potentially be our future manager and he loves being a pundit. However, on the other, I can completely see where Wenger’s coming from. It almost feels two-faced to have him working with us during the week and then criticising us on national TV at the weekends.
