Arsene Wenger is reportedly determined to keep David Ospina at Arsenal next season.

According to ESPN, with Wojciech Szczesny’s second loan move with Roma imminent, Wenger is eager to keen Ospina in north London as back-up.

Besiktas have been very vocal about their pursuit of the Colombian but have also admitted that we want too much money for him. Therefore, he could end up staying with us after all. However, as always, we have to look at this logically and realise that, in all honesty, we could just be trying to drive his asking price up. If the Turkish team – or any other club – see that Wenger is so keen to keep hold of this goalkeeper, they might begin to consider paying more.

If the rumours are true, this doesn’t bode well for Emi Martinez – our youth goalkeeper. Does Wenger not have much faith in him?

It could purely mean that he’s going out on loan again this season.

Ospina has traveled with the rest of the squad for our pre-season USA tour so we’ll have to see how that goes first.
