Arsene Wenger has breathed life into our hollow Gooner corpses by confirming that Arsenal are looking to bring in one more attacking option.

After confirming that we will be making a defensive addition following the news that Per Mertesacker is sidelined for months through injury, the boss also claimed that we will be signing an attacker – or at least trying to – as we haven’t got too many options up top.

“At the moment, I do not have too many attacking options,” he admitted after our 2-1 win against the MLS All-Stars.

“Let’s not forget that there are still a few players at home, and that a few players didn’t play today, like Cazorla. Then of course you have Ozil and Ramsey at home, even Giroud is not here. We have options, but we still look outside to find one more.”

The news will come as music to Arsenal fans’ ears as we’ve been linked with just about every striker and forward on the planet but nothing has come to fruition yet.

Of course, now there’s just the matter of who we’re signing and, to be fair, we do need someone pretty big to ease the unrest amongst Gooners right now.

Hopefully, the signing we make won’t just be to appease the fans but the right one for our club.
