Both Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud refused to put on their Euro 2016 runners-up medals after losing 1-0 to Portugal in the final.

The result, which was decided in the second half of extra time by a goal from Eder, would have been tough to take, especially considering how well France played. No one could have predicted that Portugal would be crowned winners.

Koscielny and Giroud both refused to wear their runners-up medals, which is understandable. I don’t think anyone wants to celebrate the fact they lost, particularly in the manner in which they did.

The French lads are clearly dejected. Let’s hope they can have a relaxing break ahead of the new season.
