Arsenal and Roma appear to finally have made a breakthrough in regards to the transfer of Wojciech Szczesny.

With the Italians reportedly giving Arsenal 48 hours to come to a decision, a deal looks like it has been agreed that will see the Pole return to Rome on loan.

Various reasons have been given for the lengthy talks – Arsenal refusing to budge on their financial demands, who would pay Woj’s wages, and an ‘obligation to buy’ clause have all been postulated as the reason, but no-one knows for sure and tends to forget that sometimes, simply, transfers take a while to complete.

Szczesny has reportedly told some friends, “It’s almost completely resolved, I’m coming.”

With Woj sure to be away from the club for the new season and David Ospina reportedly handing in a transfer request, it looks like Emi Martinez could be set to play the role of Arsenal’s number two next season.
