If Arsenal are interested in re-signing Oguzhan Ozyakup, they will have to fork out around €20m for the midfielder, despite letting him go for just €500k four years ago.

The 23-year-old signed for the Gunners when he was just 15 but left in 2012 after being advised to do so by Robin van Persie.

“Arsenal really treated me well,” Ozyakup said when he left. “Van Persie helped me a lot when I first joined from The Netherlands. He would invite me to his family home for meals.

“Van Persie was a great motivator, I promised him I’d score in my first game but unfortunately I couldn’t. However, he told me after the game I would have scored if given another 20 minutes and praised my performance.

“Leaving Arsenal was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, it was really upsetting. However, Beşiktaş made me an offer which was hard to refuse, one of the biggest clubs in Turkey was promising me first team football.

“I consulted Van Persie and he agreed that it was in my best interests to make the move”

Arsenal were linked with him again in the January transfer window and this summer his name has cropped up again as he continues to impress.

If you have any doubt, Lazio already tried to sign him last summer and Besiktas president, Fikret Orman, believes that he should go to a club like Chelsea.

Now, with Manchester United allegedly after him as well, Besiktas are said to want €20m for his services.

Under contract until 2018, it is highly unlikely that Arsenal will try to sign Ozyakup.

Where on earth would they put him?
