Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva, has been ruled out for up to a month with a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old pulled up clutching the back of his leg during the Reds’ pre-season clash with Huddersfield Town, which they won 2-0. We predicted at the time that, if this was indeed a hamstring injury, that he probably would miss our match at the Emirates on the opening day of the season. As Gooners, we’re all too aware of how irritating hamstring injuries can be.

Sure enough, Lucas has been ruled out for up to a month, which means he will most certainly miss Liverpool’s game against us.

Lucas had trouble with his hamstring last season, causing him to miss out on several matches and only make 27 Premier League appearances. Liverpool fans will surely be hoping he’s not sidelined for quite as long this time.
