It was only this morning we were talking about N’Golo Kante having a choice to make over his future and now it seems that the decision has already been made.

According to reports coming out of France, the Leicester City man has agreed to join Chelsea on a five-year deal with the fee coming in at around €36m.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the midfielder who was offered a new deal at Leicester but he seems to have opted to leave for a non-Champions League club.

For the record, Mohamed Bouhafsi was the first to break the ‘Martial to United’ story and one of the first to confirm Zlatan’s move to Old Trafford.

Wenger is known to be an admirer of Kante but it was always hard to see how he was going to shoehorn him into the Arsenal midfield given the arrival of Granit Xhaka, how well Ramsey plays in the middle, Santi Cazorla still likely to play a vital role and the possibility, albeit remote, that Jack Wilshere could be fit.

Still, it will no doubt be seen as many as another Arsenal transfer window failure.

It probably isn’t.
