Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that Leicester offered N’Golo Kante a new contract before the Euros started but the player has not yet made a decision with a number of clubs chasing him.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Frenchman who is said to both fancy a move to PSG while being close to a move to Chelsea.

It’s almost as if you can’t really trust anything you read at this time of the year.

Speaking to the press, Ranieri said “We offered Kante a new deal before he went to the Euros. Now I know there are a lot of big teams interested. It’s in his hands.”

With Jamie Vardy already committing his future to the Champions, they will be hopeful of getting Kante to do the same, but his is not quite as simple a path as Vardy’s.

Still only 25, and already playing in a foreign country, a big move to a top club would not be as uncomfortable for Kante as it probably would have been for Vardy.

Vardy, meanwhile, has undergone surgery on the broken wrist he suffered last season which was the reason he played most of it wearing a cast. The forward delayed surgery in order to help Leicester and is expected to link up with the rest of the Foxes in America later this month for their pre-season preparations.
