Despite Mauro Icardi claiming that everything is a-okay at Inter Milan, the Serie A club’s chief has hinted that he could leave this summer.

Inter chief, Erick Thohir, has said that they’re just looking to receive a better offer amid reports that Napoli, having lost Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus, have had an offer of €45m rejected.

“We are all hoping to receive an even better offer,” Thohir said to Class CNBC.

“At this time Mauro is an important player for us, he is our captain.

“However, it is a dynamic market.

“Players come and go while Inter remains.”

Hmmm.

Although Arsenal are still being linked with a move for the striker, it seems far more likely that he’ll go to Napoli, despite Inter originally claiming that they would never sell to a rival, since Inter seem very open to the move and Napoli have lost their main man. Inter appear to want to keep him but are being a lot more casual than you would think considering they could be about to lose their captain.

Despite Icardi claiming that he’s happy with the Italian club, reports are still coming out about him trying to ‘push’ for a move, which I would automatically ignore if it hasn’t been for his wife’s strange behaviour earlier in the window.

Do I think we will get him? No. But I do think there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
