Rob Holding has been given the #16 shirt, Aaron Ramsey’s old number, according to the Arsenal website.

As Jeorge Bird pointed out shortly after we announced the signing of the Bolton Wanderers defender, the 20-year-old has been given Rambo’s former number.

Ramsey changed his number to 8 following Mikel Arteta’s departure to Manchester City this summer, leaving the #16 shirt free to whoever wanted it.

Holding follows in the footsteps of the likes of John Hartson, Paul Dickov and Mathieu Flamini…although he may not want to pay much attention to that last one.

Hopefully, he becomes another great to add the list.
