Takuma Asano might not be a name many were aware of before he signed for Arsenal, but he has been impressing since he came under the Gunners spotlight.

Playing earlier in the week for his current side, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, the youngster showed a lovely first touch and great shot only to see his effort hit the bar.

He managed to grab a pre-assist in the game which finished 3-3 with Kashiwa Reysol and hit the post for a second time.

He also played the full 90 minutes of their game against Yokohama F. Marinos which finished 2-2 in the early hours of Sunday morning which was his last match for Sanfrecce.

At the time of his signing, the reports from Japan claimed that Asano would be sent out on loan for the first two seasons but now rumour has it that he won’t be sent anywhere until he learns English.

I’m not so sure about that, he can learn English anywhere. And if we send him to Spain for a couple of years, he’d probably be better served learning Spanish first.
