Takuma Asano netted twice for Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Saturday as he gets used to life under a far bigger spotlight.

The young forward, who is expected to go out on loan for a couple of seasons before trying his hand at the Arsenal first team, could not, however, stop his side from losing 4-2 to Kashima Antlers.

Speaking about the player, Arsene Wenger said  “Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future.

“He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years.”

Nicknamed the ‘Jaguar’, Takuma is quick, having once recorded a time of 5.9 seconds over 50 metres – a speed that will make him one of the quickest in the Arsenal squad.

Walcott, when he can be bothered, can do it over 4.42.

It’s not clear when he will finally join up with Arsenal but he has been named in Japan’s Rio Olympic Squad for this summer.

The Japan squad will meet up on 19th July to begin preparations for their Olympic campaign this summer with their first game in the tournament coming on 4th August against an Iwobi-less Nigeria.

The football final will be held on 20th August. The Premier League gets underway on 14th August.
