Granit Xhaka starred in Switzerland’s 2-1 win over Moldova and got booked after just 10 minutes in a friendly.

The match is the Swiss’ last match before they face Albania in the group stages of the Euros next month so the win will put them in good stead going into the match.

The first goal went to Switzerland, scored by Stanislav Namasco (OG) in the 12th minute, Moldova then equalised in the second half through Radu Ginsari before Admir Mehmedi put the Swiss ahead again in the 75th minute.

Xhaka, somewhat hilariously, received a yellow card – in the 10th minute. Yeah, the tenth. For a ‘nasty foul’. He was substituted off in the 70th minute for Fabian Frei. To be fair, we did say that’s why we needed him

At least Twitter found it funny.
