Following Poland’s 2-1 loss to the Netherlands, Wojciech Szczesny admitted that he doesn’t know if he will play in their next game and also claimed he’s not worried about which club he plays for next season.

The goalkeeper was uncharacteristically hesitant against the Netherlands and failed to come out to claim a cross that led to the first goal. As a result, he doesn’t know whether he’ll start the next match against Lithuania on June 6th but he’ll still look back on the game and analyse it all the same.

“We do not seek excuses,” he told Forza Roma.

“It honestly would have been more fun to analyze a game won, but we lost. Now we have a few days rest and will be the time to do the necessary analysis of the game. These two days will be useful because the last ten have been quite difficult.

“I do not know [if I will start the next match], he is the coach to decide. If I play, of course I will try to do my best. If not, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for my teammates. But I think we’ll find out who will be the starting goalkeeper of the Europeans before 12 June.”

Although Woj is still technically an Arsenal goalkeeper, he spent the last season on loan at Roma, which he openly admits he enjoyed. The plan seems to be for him to stay another year at the Serie A club but there are rumours circulating that he could be signing a permanent deal in Italy.

When asked about whether he’s worried about his future, he simply replied:

“Not at all.”

Whether this means he simply doesn’t mind where he plays or whether he already has an idea of where he will be remains to be seen.
