Iceland have knocked England out of the Euros and progressed to the quarter-finals.

Jack Wilshere wasn’t introduced until the second half after two Iceland goals (Kolbeinn Sigþórsson and Ragnar Sigurðsson) left England 2-1 down despite an early penalty slotted home by Wayne Rooney.

Wilshere came on and instantly looked as if he wanted to get stuck into the action, putting through a decent ball forward, which Dele Alli couldn’t quite get on the end of.

Jamie Vardy was brought on the save the day, considering England’s ‘big hitters’ Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane had decided against showing up.

Although Iceland found it increasingly difficult to get out of their own half, they held on. Wilshere, meanwhile, despite only been on the pitch for half-an-hour, looked tired and was barely moving. He could have been worse but is clearly still suffering from lack of playing time.

England, along with Harry Kane’s free-kicks, continued to be embarrassing and Iceland, little Iceland, go through to the quarter-finals.
