Arsenal are still, rather oddly, being linked to Mauro Icardi, despite the fact that he confirmed he wouldn’t be leaving Inter Milan in May.

The forward, who scored 16 Serie A goals in 33 appearances last season, claimed that he wanted to stay in Italy for a few more years yet considering his contract runs out in 2019. However, despite this, the media are still insisting he’ll move with Arsenal being named as one of the main teams interested.

According to reports, we’re willing to hand over £32m for the 23-year-old but West Ham also want him.

It doesn’t make much sense and, at the moment, we’re just being linked with every striker on the planet after Jamie Vardy signed a new contract with Leicester City. It’s likely that this will run and run until we do eventually sign a new striker, which, I think we all agree, needs to happen and I’m sure it will.
