Arsene Wenger appears to have put the Jamie Vardy transfer saga to bed once and for all and it seems as if the striker has snubbed Arsenal. Or has he?

In an interview, the boss appears to confirm that the 29-year-old is staying at Leicester City.

“Jamie Vardy is at the moment at Leicester and on what I know he will stay at Leicester,” he told the interviewer.

On the face of it, it seems as if Arsenal have squashed our interest in the Premier League winner but, as we all know with Wenger, it’s never that black and white. Reading the quote alone does seem pretty straight forward. However, watching the video, and the way he talks around the subject rather than just outright denying that Vardy is coming to Arsenal, doesn’t quite put the saga to bed as much as some people believe.

What’s more, is that as far as we know, we haven’t shown serious interest in another striker, which suggests we’re still waiting for a development in our favour, while the Foxes have been chasing Watford’s Troy Deeney. They just had another bid, this time of £25m (!), rejected by the Hornets.

I don’t think this is over just yet.
