Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal are still in the market for ‘one-or-two’ more players because we have to restore the balance – Wenger loves balance.

‘Balance’ has become one of Wenger’s buzzwords, particularly since we signed Mesut Ozil. However, this time, the boss is actually right. After letting Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini go at the end of last season, we’re three players down.

Now, I’m no mathematician but I reckon we should probably buy a few back, say, three? Just in case. Of course, we’ve signed a defensive midfielder in the form of the exciting Granit Xhaka, that leaves just one… two… yeah, two places left to fill.

“We’ve already bought one player – Granit Xhaka – from Monchengladbach, because we’ve lost three players,” Wenger said to Tencent.

“We’ve lost [Mikel] Arteta, we’ve lost [Tomas] Rosicky and [Mathieu] Flamini.

“So we’ve bought one midfielder and we’re still in the market to buy one or two more players.

“But it is not easy. It is not just buying.

“We also have to keep a good balance. If you buy too many players you destabilise your team. So three is the maximum.”

It’s good that we are looking, as Gooners will start to eat each other if we don’t but, by all means, don’t feel you have to stop at just two new additions, Arsene. I’m sure a little imbalance never hurt anyone!
