As with most Wednesdays, especially during the close season, there is very little going on.

The u21s returned to training, the club welcomed their first-year scholars to London Colney, Jack Wilshere is getting the blame for England’s woes and Petr Cech revealed that he can no longer play tennis because of the shoulder injury he picked up for Chelsea against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

In something that looks like actual transfer news, Takumo Asano has spoken about how ‘stunned’ he was to learn Arsenal want him and it looks like he’s close to signing for the Gunners.

At 21, he’s about as far from a household name as you can get, but should he sign, he’ll be shipped out on loan – not only to gain valuable experience in Europe, but probably also to help him get a work permit.

Not sure if we’ll be able to plant players in Spain any more to hurry up the work permit process should we leave Europe, but hey-ho, you got your country back, right?

Another youngster in the news is Tyrell Robinson who seems to be heading to West Ham to join his mate, George Dobson, who left Arsenal last summer to join the Hammers. Highly rated at Arsenal, he’s on the verge of signing a two-year deal.

Finally, in gossip, the only thing really worth discussing is Gonzalo Higuain’s brother and agent saying the player won’t be signing a new deal with Napoli. But before you go getting all excited, he’s still got two years left on his current deal and Agent Higuain doesn’t believe the Italians will let his brother go for anything less than his £74m release clause.
