Theo Walcott has reacted to the news that he won’t be going to the Euros this summer by getting himself a new fitness coach.

The forward, who was terrible last season, has employed the services of Bradley Simmons, a personal trainer who has worked with John Terry, Brendan Rodgers and Jamie Carragher to name just three.

Posting on his Instagram, Theo said:

While Simmonds himself replied to the post to say “Brilliant first session with Arsenals @theowalcott today. Really looking forward to working with Theo this Summer as he looks to get super sharp, preparing for next season.”

Walcott’s issue, as well as his fitness after his knee injury, is his attitude.

At times he just doesn’t seem like he can be bothered. One of the problem he faces is that fans remember his performances against the likes of Manchester United at the Emirates in the first half of the season and those he gave when looking for a new pay deal. We know what he can do when he can be arsed.

Can Simmonds make him see that he needs to do that more and stand about waiting less?

I hope so, for Theo and Arsenal’s sake next season.
