Mesut Ozil has given a huge indicator that he’ll be signing a new deal with Arsenal by urging his German compatriots to join the Premier League.

The playmaker claimed in an interview with Bild that he loves the English League and if he had the opportunity to come here again, he would ‘100%’.

“It’s especially tough and it increasingly difficult for smaller German clubs to keep their stars in the Bundesliga, especially after the new million-pound TV deal in England,” he said.

“The Premier League is very interesting and attractive.

“German youth players have excellent reputations, and top foreign top clubs become aware of them quickly.

“If a player in the German national team asks me how it is in England, I’d reply: ‘If you have the opportunity to do it, do it!’

“If I was again facing a decision whether to move abroad, I would do it like this again, 100 percent.”

Although most of us are a little less edgy about Ozil’s future at Arsenal than Alexis Sanchez, it’s good to hear him once again talking about how happy he is in. Just days ago he spoke about his love for London and now, with this interview, it does feel as if he’s trying to reassure us. This is a little odd because usually players trying to negotiate a new contract are slightly more tight-lipped so they can have potentially get more money. Perhaps Mesut doesn’t care about this?

We’ll most likely have to wait until after the Euros for the 27-year-old to sign his new contract, as he’s already said, but I’m sure it will happen.
