Besiktas’ president, Fikret Orman, has claimed that although the Turkish club want David Ospina, he might be too expensive.

Ospina is actually having a good Copa America tournament and it seems that this has solidified Besiktas’ interest in him. However, talks clearly haven’t been going too well, as Orman said that we’re asking for a lot of money.

Arsenal want a lot for him [Ospina] so we may have to look for alternatives,” he said.

I’m not sure what ‘a lot’ of money is, but this may change considering we might have to offload him. With talks between Roma and Arsenal for Wojciech Szczesny to go out on another season-long loan there stalling, it’s looking as if the Poland international could return sooner than we thought, making Ospina surplus to requirements. I mean, we can’t just have goalkeepers running around London Colney, can we?

I’m sure Arsenal will wind their necks in soon enough and Orman probably knows it. He’s trying the ol’ ‘apply gentle pressure’ technique. The technique which Wenger pretty much invented.
