Since Arsene Wenger politely bigged up Julian Draxler in an interview recently, the papers have put 2+2 together and decided that the Wolfsburg forward is Arsenal bound (or, you know, Manchester United bound if you read most outlets).

The 22-year-old put in a great performance in Germany’s 3-0 win against Slovakia, even scoring. He reminded everyone that he existed since he’d fallen off the map a bit after joining Wolfsburg in 2014.

Before this, however, Wenger had praised him more than once and Manchester United were being linked with him.

Now, it’s looking increasingly likely that the Red Devils’ attempt at buying Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan will fall through and Jose Mourinho has, according to the IBTimes, asked Ed Woodward if they can go for Draxler instead. Like you do.

But we’re still interested as well. Apparently. And willing to offer £38m. Get your wallets out, lads.

Except everyone’s forgetting the fact that Wolfsburg boss, Klaus Allofs, has said that he’s not going anywhere.

Hmmm.
