Liverpool have allegedly tabled a four-year deal that will see Arsenal receive £25m for Theo ‘I’m not worth anywhere near that much’ Walcott.

Despite Arsene Wenger saying that Theo would be going nowhere this summer, if the reports are correct, Arsenal should bite the hand off Jurgen Klopp’s men who also want to give Walcott £120k per week.

Walcott certainly is a frustrating case.

There seems to be an immense amount of talent inside him but he keeps it locked away until it’s time to talk about a new deal. A self-professed Liverpool supporter himself, perhaps Klopp could get out of him what Wenger has not managed throughout his injury-ravaged time in north London.

That, of course, would infuriate the many Arsenal fans who still rate Walcott highly and want to see him remain at the club. But there really does have to be a point when Arsenal stop carrying Walcott and let him move on, no matter what happens after that.

The report, which appeared in the London Evening Standard, offered little by the way of detail beyond what’s mentioned above, but Liverpool have been long-time admirers of the Englishman, at least according to the press.

A quick check of the Liverpool Echo’s website shows the last report they have on the Reds’ interest in Theo comes from Football Insider, a website in which Wayne Veysey is heavily involved. Although with a good track record on Arsenal player’s and their fitness ahead of games, his record for transfer gossip is, well, worse than Theo’s workrate on the pitch. He didn’t write this piece, however, but it’s still worth noting.

The LES did not mention their source.
