Alex Iwobi has been included in the provisional Nigeria Olympic squad for the games this summer in Rio.

There had been some debate over whether or not he would be allowed to go with the Nigeria Football Federation claiming Arsenal weren’t sure if they would release him. Arsenal denied this.

The squad will head to the US for a final training camp in Atlanta before flying to Brazil.

They will play a number of games in preparation for the tournament, including against Mexico’s u23s, Charleston Battery FC and Honduras u23.

There are 35 in the provisional squad which will be culled to 18 before the start of the Olympics.
