Hull City have announced that Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden will be returning to Arsenal following their season-long loan deals.

The pair have experienced an up-and-down loan spell with the Tigers. 20-year-old Akpom made 41 appearances in all competitions and scored seven goals but his time on the pitch was scarce; 21-year-old Hayden only managed to feature 24 times and spent most of his time on the sidelines or the bench.

On Thursday, Hull announced their retained squad list, which excluded both Arsenal youngsters and then went on to thank them for everything they’d done, signalling that they would not be there next season.

To be fair, this was pretty much a given considering both players have already thanked the club on their social media accounts.

Whether either player will be going out on loan somewhere else next season still remains to be seen.
