After beating Russia 2-1 on June 1st, Petr Cech spoke to the Czech media and claimed that he was happy with the result.

The goalkeeper, who is now the Czech Republic’s most capped player, revealed that although his national side were at fault for the goal they conceded, they came back at the right moment.

“It was a very good review,” he said to the Czech media.

“We played well, even though we got from the first error goal. But it was very good to us, we had a chance. In the second half our goal came at the right moment.

“Training camp, which was challenging fulfilled its purpose. Due to the self-confidence before the championship is important that we put at the end of a goal to 2- 1 and beat such a quality opponent.”

From what we can tell from Google translate – which doesn’t necessarily mean much, he could be talking about his dinner for all we really know – Cech was his usual professional self and is clearly relaxed about the Euros in June.

His next match is against South Korea on Sunday and he’ll be odds-on to start.

In case you missed them, here are the match highlights from the Czech Republic’s win over Russia.
