Arsenal have reportedly revived their interest in Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette.

We’ve been linked with the French striker in the past but now, considering we’re clearly on the look out for a striker and Jamie Vardy has decided to stay at Leicester, it’s fair to say that our interest is probably more genuine this time.

According to the Mirror, we face stiff competition from West Ham and Atletico Madrid for the 25-year-old’s signature but I reckon we’d be in with a far better choice and here’s why.

Back in January, Lacazatte said that, in the summer (i.e. now) he would be ready to move and specifically brought up a move to England. This rules out Atletico. Between West Ham and Arsenal, we’re far more likely to pay Lyon more and grant him higher wages.

The only issue is he mentioned he didn’t want to come to England just the for sake of it, he wanted to play and not sit on the bench. While we wouldn’t buy him as a back-up, he and Olivier Giroud would have a healthy rivalry for that first team spot. It’s up to him whether he wants to fight for it.

Last season he scored 21 goals in 34 Ligue 1 appearances. He’d be a good signing.
