Ray Parlour has admitted that he’s a little worried about Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal.

Unfortunately, the legend doesn’t appear to have any insider knowledge, despite his connections to the club. At least, not regarding our Chilean’s future. He’s just as in the dark as us, which I’m sure will worry many.

“I was a little bit worried about him come the end of the season,” he said to talkSPORT.

“Will he want to move on and go somewhere different? He’s top quality and you want to keep those sort of players if you’re going to be looking at the title next season.”

My gut instinct tells me that Alexis isn’t going anywhere, at least not this summer. Even if the worst case scenario came true and he didn’t sign a new contract with us, I don’t see us getting rid of him. In fact, I see us forcing him to run down his contract unless we get a truly astronomical offer and even then, we’re in a far stronger financial position now. We don’t have to take the first lump-sum given to us – we have room to negotiation.

Saying this, if the signings we seem to be chasing do come off this summer, I don’t see Alexis even wanting to go anywhere. We’ve already strengthened from buying Granit Xhaka and at least appear to be trying to add even more quality to a decent squad.

What’s more, is that there are barely any reports linking the 27-year-old to a move away from north London. Back in May, there was talk of PSG making contact with his people but, since then, crickets. In fact, he’s changed his shirt number, which doesn’t seem like the action of someone looking to move.

Unlike Ray, I’m not worried. Not yet, anyway.
