Jack Wilshere has seen the silver lining in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad.

The midfielder, who has only just returned to the first team after spending the whole season sidelined with a broken foot, acknowledged that it could be a big point in the quest for Champions League football.

“That point could be big, if we can win our home games,” Wilshere said post-match.

“City are a good team and you don’t really want to fall a goal behind.”

The points will come as little consolation to most Arsenal fans who were frustrated by another terrible display in which the players performed as if they didn’t know each other. There was no chemistry and the fact that we somehow managed to score two decent goals through Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez was a minor miracle.

We’re three points ahead of City with one game left to play (Aston Villa at home) so it’s looking as if we’ve got third place wrapped up. However, I wouldn’t put anything past this Arsenal team and I don’t mean that in a good way.
