Arsene Wenger admitted that he’s worried about Danny Welbeck’s latest injury sustained against Manchester City.

The striker had to be subbed off just half way through the first half at the Etihad and went straight down the tunnel. It didn’t look good.

Sure enough, the boss has said that it looks like a meniscus tear (knee) and that Welbeck is down.

“Danny is a strong boy,” he said.

“At half-time I looked at him and he looked in pain. We will see the scan tomorrow.”

It must be devastating considering the former Manchester United man only returned from surgery on the opposite knee a couple of months ago after spending the entire season sidelined. He was doing well and really added something to the team. He thought he would be fit for Euro 2016 and now it doesn’t look as if that will happen. No wonder he’s down.

Hopefully, it’s not as bad as it seems and the scans will show it’s not too serious. However, with Welbeck’s history of injuries, it’s hard to be optimistic.
