Arsene Wenger appeared to be in denial after Arsenal’s poor performance against Manchester City, which resulted in a 2-2 draw.

The manager hailed the performance as ‘great’ despite our team playing as if we didn’t know each other and didn’t understand what tactics were. The fact that we managed to salvage a point at all was somewhat impressive, to be fair.

After the match, Wenger defended the lacklustre display.

“I believe we had a great performance,” he said.

“We have to keep the focus now. We gave the right response today.”

Whether Wenger is now just trying to wind us up because the season is almost over, I don’t know, but I fail to see what part of the performance was great. Giroud’s goal was decent; his assist was sublime. Alexis’ goal was ‘great’… I guess.

At the moment, Gooners are just counting down the minutes until the season is over and, hopefully, something can be fixed because, at the moment, we’re not winning anything and aren’t even fun to watch anymore.
