Danny Welbeck spoke ahead of our Premier League match against Manchester City at the Etihad, admitting that he has good and bad memories of the ground.

When Welbeck played for Manchester United, City were his greatest rivals. It, therefore, stands to reason that his anticipation for the match might be even higher than ours. The Red Devils had varying results at the Etihad over the years and getting a win there would mean a lot to the striker.

When we beat City 2-0 at their ground last year and then 2-1 at the Emirates earlier this season, Welbeck is right, we had our tactics spot on. We just need to replicate this on Sunday.

“I remember watching it at home on TV with my family,” he said to Arsenal Player.

“The performance was outstanding, from the first minute until the last.

“It was a great team performance, everyone worked hard throughout the game and I think tactically we were spot on with how we approached the match.

“I’ve got some good memories [at Man City], and a couple of bad ones as well. I think it’s important to focus on the next game coming and make sure that it’s another good memory.”

If we take all three points from City, it secures third place in the table, given that they’re already three points behind with two matches to go. If we lose, they go above us on goal difference and whoever gets third place goes down to the wire – something we, as Gooners, are used to.
