Jack Wilshere has been looking lively in England training this week and by ‘lively’ I mean he’s still in one piece.

The midfielder, who spent pretty much the entire season sidelined through injury, impressed Roy Hodgson enough in his three appearances for Arsenal that the England boss brought him to France as part of his Euro 2016 squad.

However, it’s easy to see why 141 minutes was enough for Roy to make his decision, considering how sharp the 24-year-old looked in training.

Hopefully, he continues to make progress and grow fitter. He’s a brilliant player but now that he’s getting older, he really needs some time in the pitch to hone his talent into something more tangible. This is something Theo Walcott hasn’t been able to do and he’s missed out on international football as a result.
