23-year-old Wellington Silva spent this season on loan at Bolton.

The winger scored two goals (against QPR and Wolves) and assisted four in his time at the Championship club. He even delivered a Man of the Match performance in Keith Lasley’s testimonial against Motherwell. However, he had his time there blighted by a hamstring injury, which kept him sidelined from from October to December. He was then left out of the squad from February onward.

The Brazilian is agile and skilled with the ball but needs to work on his composure in front of goal.

As far as loan spells go, although the youngster is clearly talented, at the age of 23 he should be showing a little more promise. We signed him from Fluminense six years ago and for him to have not made any progress or even a single appearance for our first team since then is concerning. I wouldn’t be surprised if we let the forward go.
