Since Olivier Giroud’s debut for Arsenal in 2012, he’s scored more headed goals than any other player in the Premier League.

Despite not scoring for 16 games (blimey), the big Frenchman appeared to be back in form against Manchester City, heading home a great equalising goal just two minutes after Sergio Aguero put the Blues 1-0 up in the eighth minute.

The goal marked the 29-year-old’s 18th headed goal since making his debut. It was also his 13th Premier League goal of the season.

As with most strikers, when Giroud’s on form he’s unstoppable. However, his ‘off’ periods are lasting longer and longer and while I don’t think he should be sold, it wouldn’t be wise to continue relying on him as our first choice goalscorer. As a second choice to come off the bench, he could be fantastic, especially as he’s not as brittle as poor Danny Welbeck, who limped off once again against City.
